Dear AP English Literature Family,
****REMINDER: A Doll's House Independent Assignment is due February 13 *****
I apologize for sending you the wrong announcement in regards to the
Grade Policy Change. I sent the information for the 10th graders.
In order to match the expectations of college courses, the AP
Grading Policy will be as follows:
Attendance & Participation: 25%
Assessments: 25%
Written Assignments: 25%
Performance Tasks: 25%
Attendance & Participation consists of being present and prepared in
class, participating appropriately in classroom discussions and
activities, and completing any in-class assignments. These
assignments may be made up on Friday during Study Hall, Period 4.
Assessments are tests and quizzes that measure student learning.
Written Assignments are essays and other written assignments that
are assigned to help prepare students for the upcoming AP Exam.
Performance Tasks are other assignments that students complete,
including Socratic Circle discussions, projects, creative
assignments, and other assignments.
Also, the AP English Literature and Composition Exam is being
offered on May 14th. In order to fully prepare students, it is
necessary for them to have the Barron's AP Literature Review book
(white with green features). These books are available at most book
stores (Border's, Barnes & Noble, etc.) If a student has an issue
purchasing the book, please see me immediately.
